Raising The Pulse

Posted: February 11, 2011 in Raising The Pulse

What raises your pulse?  I’m sure your pulse is a lot like mine.  When I’m frightened my pulse starts racing.  When I’m nervous it tends to race and even when I’m excited, it races.  But what else gets your pulse going?  I’ll tell you what else gets mine going.  It’s Jesus!!! I know, some of you may be saying why Jesus?  So I’ll tell you.

Have you ever gotten excited at a basketball game, football game, baseball game or a race? Sure, we all have.  Did you get excited when your child took his or her first steps?  I know I did.  There are many things we get excited about, and if your anything like me, being excited is one way for your pulse to race.  I get excited about all these things, but nothing can compare to Jesus.  I mean, God sent Him to earth to die on a tree for you and me!!! He did that for ME???? A sinner??? Yes a sinner, because He loves us so much.  He loves me so much.  When I became a Christian I realized that I was a sinner and that Jesus shed his blood to cover those sins.  I believed that.  I had faith.  Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)  Yes!! Things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen.  I can’t see Jesus but I have faith that what I read is true.  Time and time again I see my faith being strengthened, which gets me excited because I see Jesus working in my life or someone elses.  When Jesus has done so much for me, why would I do nothing for Him?  Have you ever been excited about something and kept it to yourself?  NO!!! You told someone!! So why not tell someone about Jesus.  If we have faith then we should have obedience.  After all, aren’t we commanded to go and make disciples?

Let’s look at it this way.  Do you think Moses’ pulse was slow and steady when he saw a burning bush talk to him? I think his pulse was probably racing? Why? Because he just had an encounter with Almighty God!!  What about Abraham when he took Isaac on that mountain, about to take his life and then EERRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!! Just like that he was told to stop? Why? He just had an encounter with God, his faith turned to obedience pleased God, and again, I’m sure his pulse was racing.  What about Noah? They thought he was crazy, but he had faith, don’t you think his pulse started racing as the rains came, but his faith was strong.  And Ananias, not Ananias and Sapphira, they didnt’ have a pulse long (Acts 5:1-11) But the Ananias that was told to go to where Saul was.  Saul? The persecuter of Christians? Surely Jesus wouldn’t tell a Christian to go to a man that hated Christians?  He did and Ananias had faith, I’m sure you guessed it, his pulse was racing too.  Which brings me to the point of all of this.  Our faith should drive us to do things for God, we should show Jesus to people by the way we live our lives, the way we speak to people and the way we treat our family, co-workers and friends.  Our faith in God can lead us into some pretty wild things but we always see God’s hand at work.  That should make us excited. Our pulse should be racing because of our faith.

Raising the Pulse through Faith………..If we have no pulse or a slow pulse then it’s likely we are dead, or just might as well be dead because we aren’t doing anything.  So lets get out there and do something for God, lets raise our pulse, lets be active and let ot hers see Jesus, let them know about Him.  Stop being dead, be alive, raise your pulse through faith.

With that being said………Raising the Pulse is a ministry in the Northeast, MS area.  We have sought out to share Christ in unique ways through speaking, music and drama.  We like to Raise the Pulse through faith, and hope to show Jesus and get your pulse pumping too.
